Design Planning Session
One focused appointment. A room that finally makes sense.
A private, in-studio planning appointment where we work through layout, scale, palette, and direction together — so every decision feels considered rather than guessed at.
What This Is
The Design Planning Session is where the room starts to make sense.
In a focused, private appointment at our Calgary studio, we work through the questions that matter most before any purchase is made: How should this room be arranged? What scale of sofa actually fits? What palette holds it together? What do you buy first?
We consider how you live — the way your household actually uses a space, what you already own and want to keep, what your home needs to function well — and translate all of it into a cohesive, confident furnishing direction.
You leave with clarity. Not a mood board full of things you cannot afford, and not a vague sense of direction.
A real plan.

WHO THIS IS FOR
This session is right for you if:
- You want professional guidance without the overwhelm of trying to figure it out alone
- You are furnishing a room and want it to feel cohesive from the beginning, not assembled
over time - You have bought things you loved individually and discovered they didn't work together
- You know what you like but cannot quite articulate it — or get there on your own
- You want a plan that fits the way you actually live, not a version of your home that exists only in photographs
-
WHAT TO BRING
Come as you are. If you have any of the following, bring them — but none of it is required:
- A photo or short video of the room
- Inspiration images you have saved — even a loose folder on your phone is useful
- A note on anything you already own and want to keep
- Basic room dimensions, if you have them
No measurements?
No vision yet? That is fine. We start from wherever you are.
What Happens After?
If you decide to move forward with furnishing, your $250 planning investment is credited toward your project. From there we guide selections, sourcing, and ordering based on the direction we established together. There is no obligation to buy, and no pressure to decide in the room.
The session has real value on its own — and most clients find they leave wanting to move forward.
A Note on Art
Interior Living sits alongside Gibson Fine Art, one of Calgary's leading contemporary galleries. When art is part of your home, it changes everything around it — the furniture, the scale, the feeling of the room. We bring that perspective into every session.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — and honestly, that is one of the most useful starting points. We are good at finding clarity
quickly.
Not at all. Many clients start with a single room, or a single problem to solve. The scope grows when it makes sense.
Yes. If you are selecting an individual piece, complimentary showroom guidance is always
available. Planning sessions are for coordinating multiple elements across a room — layout,
scale, palette, sequencing.
Your session will be led by one of our in-studio designers. You will have their full attention for the duration of the appointment.
